Beating addiction is not an easy feat and almost inevitably requires professional help to do it successfully—moreover, the ongoing support from family and friends is crucial as one begins their journey on the road to recovery.

Outpatient Rehab Thousand Oaks
Outpatient treatment is a very different approach to addiction therapy than residential inpatient treatment. The intensity and nature of the programs are as different as night and day, yet both programs are as important as the sun and the moon regarding addiction treatment. Wildwood Recovery is an inpatient and outpatient rehab in Thousand Oaks. Contact us for a no-cost assessment, and we'll determine if outpatient is appropriate for your needs.
Who is Outpatient Treatment for?
At Wildwood Recovery, we recognize that there is a huge demographic of people who are abusing drugs but don't know where to go to help. Often, people who have become addicted to drugs begin to realize that their lives have become unmanageable, but they have careers, families, and other responsibilities that they can't walk away from long enough to seek the treatment they would receive in an inpatient facility. Outpatient treatment is a viable solution for such persons.
Outpatient treatment is appropriate for many different people from many walks of life. While the bulk of our outpatient clients have just stepped out of inpatient treatment, many of our outpatient clients do begin their treatment in outpatient. Sometimes, taking care of things at the lowest level of care is a great place to start. Admittedly, not everyone needs to go to residential treatment for thirty days. So, when it's possible, and when it's in the best interest of the client, we always want to try to place each client in the lowest level of care without disrupting their day-to-day lives.
Outpatient Treatment is Hard Work
Make no mistake; outpatient treatment is a significant commitment. In outpatient treatment, you must fit in a minimum of nine hours per week into your schedule. Further, because we have limited resources and staff, we want to see that our clients are fully invested in their outpatient treatment program. Whether court-ordered or not, if a client does not comply with our outpatient rules, they will be discharged from the program.
Inpatient Might be Better than Outpatient
Although many people prefer outpatient treatment over inpatient treatment, residential inpatient is often better at helping them attain long-term sobriety. At outpatient therapy, a client will drive to our facility and then go home when the session is over. However, the sobriety success rate for clients who solely engage in outpatient treatment isn't as impressive as the success rate for inpatient treatment.
The reason why inpatient treatment typically has better results than outpatient treatment is that an inpatient setting provides clients with a safe and clean environment to get stabilized. Additionally, inpatient rehab provides for the needs of its clients so that the clients can focus entirely on their recovery program. Learning how to cope with life on life's terms without using drugs, gaining a sponsor and support group, and learning how and where to identify resources and tools that aid in recovery is part of the inpatient experience.
